We design retreats that don't just sit on the land, but grow out of it. From coconut groves in Sandur to the hills of Yelagiri, our projects blend luxury with the raw beauty of nature.

The "Grid in the Grove" farmhouse in Sandur, nestled within a captivating coconut grove. The design, with its terracotta roof and traditional facade, was inspired by the local context and the desire to create a structure that feels rooted in its place.

A visual summary of The Amberly Resort and Farmhouse in Yelagiri. Our design philosophy centered on preserving existing trees and incorporating small water bodies to create a space where architecture truly meets nature.

Serenity by day at The Amberle Resort in Yelagiri. The design features a central courtyard with a plunge pool, creating a private oasis that is visually connected to the surrounding rooms through large glass windows.

At the Amberle farmhouse, we stepped back and let the site dictate the design. This evening shot shows how the landscape lighting enhances the natural beauty, creating a perfect harmony between the built and natural environment.

Conceptualized around existing trees, our Amberle resort in Yelagiri preserves the site's natural beauty. This evening view shows the inviting glow of the villa, creating a delightful tension between exploring the grounds and relaxing indoors.

About Serene Escapes: Farmhouses & Resorts

In our Amberle project at Yelagiri, we made a crucial decision to not remove a single tree on the site. We designed the architecture around the existing landscape, letting the natural surroundings dictate the form of the villa. This is our standard approach to every farmhouse project. We prioritize site analysis—solar paths, wind direction, and existing vegetation—to ensure your structure feels like it has always belonged to the land.

Architecture That Listens to the Land

For us, designing a farmhouse or a resort is a dialogue between human needs and the environment. We move away from imposing rigid, boxy structures on a site. Instead, we look for ways to integrate the built form with the native ecosystem. Whether you are planning a private weekend home in the hills or a commercial resort, our design process starts with deep site analysis.

The 'Grid in the Grove' Approach

Take our 'Grid in the Grove' project in Sandur as an example. The design challenge was the dense coconut plantation. Rather than clearing the space, we used terracotta roofs, traditional stone columns, and jali parapets to create a structure that feels traditional and grounded. The layout respects the natural flow of the grove, allowing the trees to become part of the veranda and courtyard experience.

Eco-Conscious Luxury

True luxury in a retreat setting is about comfort that doesn't disconnect you from your surroundings. We achieve this through:

  • Site-Responsive Layouts: Using courtyards to naturally cool interiors and create private, sun-drenched oases.
  • Material Honesty: We use local materials like laterite blocks, terracotta, and granite, which age beautifully and reduce the carbon footprint of your build.
  • Seamless Transitions: We use large glass openings and floor-to-ceiling windows to blur the line between your living room and the outdoors.

If you have a plot of land and a vision for a retreat, we are happy to help you map it out. We handle the full journey, from assessing your site's potential and Vastu compliance to managing the civil construction and interior finishes.
