About Kudremukha: The Horse-Face Peak Challenge
Kudremukha is a demanding hike, not a leisure walk. Expect steep, slippery trails and unpredictable weather, especially during the monsoon season. You will need decent stamina to navigate the muddy paths and stream crossings, but the view from the 1,892m summit is worth every bit of the effort.
The Trek Experience
We guide you through the heart of the Western Ghats, where the landscape shifts from dense, ancient forests to rolling grasslands. The ascent to the Kudremukha peak covers challenging terrain, testing your endurance and rewarding you with panoramic views that are often shrouded in dramatic mist. Since we have been exploring these hills for 14 years, we know exactly how to pace the group and manage the tricky sections.
What to Expect
- Terrain: Expect muddy trails, stream crossings, and potential leeches during the rainy months. We provide guidance on how to manage these.
- Logistics: Our weekend trips start from Bangalore. We handle the 600km round-trip transport in comfortable Tempo Travellers or Mini Buses.
- Accommodation: You will stay in basic dormitory homestays or tents. It is simple, shared living where you can bond with fellow trekkers over a warm, home-cooked vegetarian meal.
- Safety First: We run batches with certified trek leaders and first-aid responders. We have a strict zero-alcohol and zero-smoking policy to ensure the mountains stay clean and the trek remains safe for everyone.
