About Haldi & Mehandi Ceremonies
I don't just stand back during these functions. I get right into the action to catch the flying turmeric powder and the genuine messiness of the Haldi ritual, using high-speed Nikon gear to freeze the motion without losing the warmth of the moment. You won't just get stiff poses, but the real reactions of your friends and family when the dhol kicks in.
The Haldi and Mehandi are often the most energetic parts of an Indian wedding, and that is exactly where I focus my energy. My approach here is entirely candid. I am not interested in lining everyone up for formal group shots while the real life happens elsewhere.
Capturing the 'Masti'
Whether it is a poolside Mehandi in Delhi or a traditional ceremony in the hills of Shimla, my goal is to document the 'masti' (fun). I look for the unscripted interactions: a bride laughing with her cousins while getting henna applied, or the groom getting covered in Haldi by his friends. These are the moments that hold the true spirit of your wedding celebrations.
Technical Edge
I use Nikon Z-series gear with professional off-camera flash setups. This allows me to keep the colors vibrant and the exposure perfect, even when we are dealing with harsh sunlight or indoor lighting conditions. For outdoor Haldi events, I use drone shots to capture the scale of the venue and the crowd, giving you cinematic establishing shots for your wedding film.
