About Our Community: Workshops & Exhibitions
When you join us for a workshop or an exhibition opening, you aren't just visiting a gallery. You are stepping into our active workspace in Cooke Town, where you might find us mixing chemicals for a print, hosting an artist-in-residence, or prepping for a community market. We keep our groups small on purpose, as it allows us to offer real guidance, answer questions about processes like cyanotype or film development, and ensure you leave with a solid understanding of the craft.
Our studio exists to bridge the gap between historical processes and contemporary practice. We host regular workshops because we believe that analog photography and printmaking should not be hidden secrets. From teaching the basics of cyanotype to kids and adults, to guiding students through their first film roll, we prioritize hands-on experience over theory. We want you to get your hands dirty and understand the chemical magic that goes into every piece.
Beyond workshops, our space functions as a venue for local and international artists. We have hosted everything from open houses showcasing analog slitscan photography to collaborative projects like the OSCH Photography Project, which connected storytellers from India and the UK. When we organize an exhibition, our goal is conversation. We want you to see the work, but also to understand the why and how behind it.
If you are planning to visit, keep an eye on our event announcements. Whether it is an artist residency wrap-up, our annual art market, or a screening under the stars, our door is open. We are located in St Thomas Town and welcome anyone curious about handmade art. If you have a project in mind or want to see the studio, just reach out. We are always happy to host people who share our passion for the tactile, the slow, and the handmade.
