Art for a Cause: Therapeutic Community Workshops
Beyond the classroom, I use art as a bridge for connection and healing. These community workshops bring the therapeutic power of creative expression to children who need it most, proving that art is for everyone.
This group photo with students from the Hum Foundation is one of my most cherished memories. Each child is holding their unique creation from our Chandrayaan kit workshop, a testament to their creativity and resilience.
Here I am, guiding the students during the workshop. It was an honor to facilitate this art therapy session and help these young minds express themselves. This is the 'why' behind Kalarang Club.
Look at the incredible focus during our art workshop. The children are completely absorbed in painting and creating. This is the power of hands-on, therapeutic art in action.
These clips show close-ups of the students' creative process. I believe in focusing on the journey of exploration, not just the final outcome. It was heartwarming to see them experiment with colours and bring their ideas to life.
About Art for a Cause: Our Community Workshops
In these sessions, we do not worry about the final outcome. Whether it is kids from the Hum Foundation exploring the Chandrayaan kit or local community groups, the goal is always the same: providing a safe, non-judgmental space where the process of creating becomes a form of emotional release and self-discovery.
My philosophy is that art and psychology travel on the same journey. When I conduct these workshops, I am not teaching technique; I am providing a medium for expression. I use my range of DIY kits to create structured yet open-ended activities that help children navigate their emotions, build focus, and gain confidence.
For example, during our session with the Hum Foundation, we used the Chandrayaan kit not just to paint, but to build a narrative of resilience and curiosity. By combining science-themed art with therapeutic interaction, we allow children to step away from daily stressors and simply 'be' in the moment.
These workshops are designed to be inclusive and adaptable, whether we are working in an NGO setup, a school, or a community hall in Mumbai. The supplies, the video guides, and the gentle facilitation are all intended to remove barriers to creativity. If you are representing an organization or an NGO and believe your community could benefit from a space where art is used for healing and growth, let us start a conversation.
