The Art of Handcrafted Cold-Process Soaps
Explore the science and soul behind my cold-process soapmaking. Each loaf is thoughtfully formulated with natural botanicals, clays, and butters, cured for weeks to ensure a gentle, nourishing wash for your skin. 🌿
This is the beginning of my Moringa Mahua Butter soap. I'm creating texture in the wet soap batter, which is rich with coconut milk, moringa, and nourishing mahua butter, before topping it with botanicals.
Creating the beautiful swirls in my artisan soaps is one of my favorite parts. Here, I'm pouring different colored soap batters to create a unique, artistic pattern in every single bar.
Adding the final artistic touches to a custom batch of Charcoal Rose soap. This delicate leaf stencil, made with a dusting of clay, makes each bar a small piece of art.

About The Art of Soap Making
When you choose a handmade loaf, you are not just buying soap, you are waiting for chemistry to happen. Every batch I pour requires a 4 to 6-week curing period in a controlled environment. This patience ensures the water evaporates, creating a harder, longer-lasting bar that does not melt away in your soap dish, while remaining incredibly gentle on your skin.
Why I Choose the Cold Process
I stick to the traditional cold process method because it preserves the integrity of my ingredients. Unlike commercial bars, my soaps retain their natural glycerin, which is a humectant that draws moisture to your skin rather than stripping it away. By carefully blending oils like Olive and Rice Bran with indigenous ingredients like Mahua Butter or fresh Coconut Milk, I ensure each bar has a creamy, stable lather.
The Importance of Curing
Many people ask why they have to wait for their custom soap. The answer lies in the cure. During these 4 to 6 weeks, the soap undergoes saponification and the excess water evaporates. This transforms a soft, freshly poured batter into a solid, mild bar. It makes the soap much longer-lasting and significantly milder for sensitive skin.
Ingredients That Matter
My recipes are completely palm-oil free. I prefer sourcing indigenous ingredients like Mahua Butter, which is deeply nourishing, and pairing them with French Clays or activated charcoal for their cleansing properties. I never use synthetic fragrances or colors. Instead, I use 100% pure essential oil blends for scent and natural botanicals like rose petals or dried herbs for texture.
Every loaf is hand-cut and wrapped in my signature eco-friendly 'soap tuxedo' paper. Whether you are looking for a gentle goat milk bar or a decadent, butter-rich loaf for gifting, I pour the same intention into every batch. Reach out if you have specific skin concerns or ingredients you prefer to avoid, and I can formulate a batch specifically for your needs.
