The Handmade Process: Natural Skincare from Scratch

byKabbalahDelivered across BengaluruView full gallery

Every jar and bar you see here started as a thought in my home studio. Here is a glimpse into how I create fresh, small-batch skincare in the heart of Bengaluru.

This is a glimpse into my formulation process. I am carefully measuring and mixing the natural powders and clays for my 'Ksheer' milk cleanser. Every ingredient is chosen for its specific skin-loving benefits.

The art of soap making is so rewarding. Here, I am cutting a loaf of my cold-processed soap. This method preserves the goodness of the organic oils and butters I use.

Pouring a fresh batch of my natural deodorant. I do everything by hand, from melting the waxes and butters to pouring each individual tin. It's a labor of love.

This is me cutting my 'Namma Kaapi' coffee soap. The large block is sliced into individual bars, each with its own unique swirl of coffee-infused soap.

Cutting the 'Vana' fruit bar. Using a wire cutter ensures each bar is a uniform size and shape, ready for curing and packaging.

A bowl of pure Kaolin Clay, one of the key ingredients I use in many products. It's a gentle clay that helps cleanse the skin, reduce oil, and soothe irritation.

Another look at the fine texture of Kaolin Clay. I use it in my deodorants and face masks to purify pores and detox the skin naturally.

About this collection

When you see me cutting a loaf of soap or measuring Kaolin clay, it is more than just manufacturing. It is a slow, tactile process where I control exactly what goes into each batch. Since I do not use mass production, I can ensure that every bar of Namma Kaapi soap or tin of deodorant stays as fresh as the day it was cured, preserving the potency of the raw oils and clays without needing synthetic preservatives.

My process is rooted in intention. Starting Kabbalah during the 2020 lockdown taught me that skincare does not need to be complex to be effective. By keeping my batches tiny, I avoid the pitfalls of shelf-stable mass production. ~ Why Small Batches Matter Most commercial skincare sits in warehouses for months. My soaps, like the coffee-infused Namma Kaapi or the cooling Vana fruit bar, are cold-processed and cured for over four weeks. This is not the fastest way to make soap, but it is the right way. It allows the natural glycerin to remain, keeping your skin hydrated rather than stripped. ~ Raw Ingredients, Real Results You will often see me working with Kaolin clay. I choose this specifically because it is gentle enough for sensitive skin while being effective at drawing out impurities. When I mix a batch, I am looking for a specific texture—creamy, potent, and honest. I do not hide behind synthetic additives. Whether it is beeswax for strength or candelilla wax for a vegan alternative, every decision is made based on how the ingredient behaves on your skin. ~ Sustainability in Action The handmade process extends to my packaging. If you visit my studio in Bengaluru, you will see me shunning plastic entirely. Using glass jars and metal tins is a choice to keep the product clean, but it is also an invitation for you to reuse them. My goal is to send out products that feel like a ritual, not just a commodity.
