photography is more than the final image. it is about the collaboration, the gear, and the quiet chase for light that happens before the shutter ever fires.

Me, lining up a shot on a walkway in New York City. Photography is my way of seeing and interacting with the world.

Reviewing drone footage with the production team on a shoot. Collaboration is a key part of many of my commercial projects, and I enjoy the creative energy of working with a crew.

About Behind the Lens

photography is rarely just about the shutter click. it is about the hours spent scouting locations in nyc, the way i sync with my crew to review footage, and the patience required to wait for the light to hit a subject exactly right. whether i am on a commercial set for a luxury hotel or shooting street photography, my focus stays on the process—the gear setup, the collaboration, and the quiet moments that actually make a shot work.

my work operates at the intersection of cinematic filmmaking and documentary photography. when you hire me, you are not just getting a person with a camera. you are getting someone who obsesses over the technical details—whether that means deciding between the leica q3 for street spontaneity or the sony a1 for high-speed commercial production.

the production process

collaboration is at the core of my commercial work. having worked with brands like four seasons and the plaza, i know that the best results come from a crew that communicates well. when i am on set, my priority is the narrative. we are not just capturing a space or a product, we are building a mood. this often involves detailed pre-production discussions, reviewing drone footage with the team, and ensuring the lighting setup matches the cinematic look i am chasing.

gear and technical approach

i treat my gear as an extension of the storytelling process. if the shoot requires the clean, sharp lines of architectural photography, i reach for my leica. if we are dealing with fast-paced action or complex underwater environments, i switch to my sony setup with custom housings.

why it matters

people call me jetlag for a reason—my life is defined by movement, from the cenotes of mexico to the streets of nyc. this constant travel keeps my eye fresh. i do not rely on standard formulas. instead, i look for the light, the shadow, and the authentic interaction. when we work together, expect a professional, grounded approach where the focus is entirely on creating visuals that feel real and cinematic.
