About A Day at the Academy
What you see on court isn't just playing games. Whether it's at Vasant Kunj, Saket, or Lodhi Road, every session begins with meditation to sharpen focus, followed by specific conditioning. We maintain a 10:1 student-to-coach ratio in foundation batches so you get immediate, personal correction on your grip or footwork, rather than just running through a generic drill.
Our training at the academy is built on a specific, three-stage structure designed to produce results. We don't believe in just hitting the shuttle; we believe in understanding why.
The Training Cycle
- Focus & Warm-up: We start every session with brief meditation and agility ladder work. It sounds simple, but it builds the mental clarity needed for high-speed rallies.
- Technical Drills: This is where the work happens. We use multi-shuttle feeding to force muscle memory. You will work on your V-grip, panhandle grip, and movement cycles (start, approach, hit, recover). We correct your body weight shift on the spot because these small details prevent injury and improve your power.
- Conditioning: Whether you are in our adult fitness batch or our competitive performance program, fitness is non-negotiable. We integrate ground training and endurance runs to ensure you don't fade out in the third set.
Our Facilities
We train exclusively on indoor, BWF-approved courts with both wooden and synthetic surfaces. We operate across three locations in Delhi: Vasant Kunj (DAV Public School), Saket (New Green Field School), and Lodhi Road (AFBBS).
For my intermediate and advanced players, we transition to feather shuttles for precise flight and speed simulation. If you are joining us, come prepared to sweat, laugh, and push yourself. If you are a beginner, we start with nylon shuttles and focus entirely on making you fall in love with the game while building a solid foundation.
