Cityscapes & Aesthetic Moments in Delhi
Delhi has a soul, and I try to catch it on camera. From the golden hour glow in Old Delhi to the moody silence of a rainy morning, these are the moments that make our city feel like home.
I love it when it rains. Everything looks twice as beautiful, and the city gets a whole new vibe. I shot this on my Samsung phone to capture the moody, aesthetic feel of a rainy day in Delhi.
Chasing the golden hour with my phone. This shot of chai being poured, with the steam catching the light, is a perfect example of finding beauty in everyday moments.
The golden hour light hitting the dome of the Jama Masjid, seen through the tangled wires of Old Delhi. This is the kind of organized chaos that makes the city so unique and photogenic.
A much needed break from the hustle. This is a glimpse from my recent road trip to Mukteshwar and Nainital. Sometimes you just need to hit the road and capture the beauty of the journey.
About this collection
People often ask if I need a heavy setup for these shots. Honestly, most of these aesthetic moments are captured on my Samsung flagship or a handheld camera, because the best lighting does not wait for a tripod. Whether it is the specific hue of a sunset in Old Delhi or the way rain hits the pavement, I focus on mobility so I can get the angle before the moment passes.
When I head out to shoot, I do not look for big monuments. I look for the light. Delhi changes completely during the golden hour, and that is when I am usually scouting areas like Lodhi Garden or the chaotic lanes of Chandni Chowk.
My Approach to Aesthetic Cinematography
- Lighting is Everything: I prioritize natural light. If it is raining, I lean into the gloom for moodier, desaturated tones. If it is sunset, I am looking for silhouettes and flare.
- Mobile vs. Professional Gear: I use flagship smartphones for that quick, viral aesthetic because they handle HDR incredibly well in moving crowds. For deeper, cinematic portraits, I switch to my Sony Alpha.
- The Vibe Edit: The edit should not feel over-processed. I keep the color grading simple. It stays vibrant for sunny days and slightly cooler and grainier for those quiet, rainy city moments.
If you have a location in mind that you think has a unique vibe but you are not sure how to shoot it, let us go there. Whether it is your favorite cafe, a specific street, or a rooftop with a view, I can help you capture those cinematic frames that look like they belong in a movie.
Harry
I am Harry, a Delhi-based photographer who is more interested in the city’s vibe than just taking pretty pictures. I spend my days roaming streets, finding cinematic angles in places most people just walk past. If you want to capture your own aesthetic moment without the stiff posing, I am your guy.
