Delhi Alleys & Architecture: Street Photography Sessions
I love the grit and texture of Delhi's narrow lanes. These street portrait sessions focus on finding quiet, atmospheric corners against the backdrop of the city's living history.
A candid moment in a quiet Delhi alley. The bright orange and pink saree pops against the weathered walls, creating a beautiful, spontaneous portrait.
Finding a perfect little nook to sit and pose. The textures of the old wall and steps add so much character to this street portrait.
The old blue door in this alleyway provided a perfect splash of color and a point of interest for this exploratory pose.
A confident pose against a rustic bicycle. This shot combines traditional attire with everyday street elements for an authentic feel.
Leaning against a wall in a narrow lane, this portrait has a relaxed yet direct feel. The out-of-focus background hints at the city's depth.
A classic portrait pose that showcases the beautiful saree and the model's expression, framed by the gritty texture of the alley wall.
A moment of quiet thought on a city stoop. This type of environmental portrait tells a story and feels very genuine.
Using a local flower stall as a backdrop. The vibrant red of the stall and the flowers complement the model's bright saree perfectly.
A different angle of the seated portrait, showing how we can find multiple compositions in a single small space.
A pensive pose framed by an old wooden door. The textures and history of the location become part of the photograph's story.
About Delhi Alleys & Architecture
When we shoot in these narrow lanes, we don't use bulky gear. It is just me, my camera, and your vibe. We move quickly to catch the light before it dips behind the old structures, so we focus on getting those candid, natural frames without over-planning.
Delhi is a different beast compared to Mumbai. The architecture here has a heavy, historic weight to it that you cannot fake. Whether we are walking through the blue doors of an old haveli or using the harsh sunlight in a narrow market lane, the goal is always the same. We want to capture you in a way that feels like you belong to that street.
I rely entirely on natural light for these sessions. If you look at the portfolio, you will see how the sun bounces off those weathered brick walls to create natural highlights on a face. It is raw, it is honest, and it often involves dodging rickshaws or waiting for a crowd to pass.
Because I use a Sony Alpha with prime lenses, we stay agile. We can move from a quiet balcony to a busy alley in seconds. If you are worried about posing, don't be. My process is very chill. We walk, we talk, and we wait for that one perfect second where the light and your expression match the chaotic beauty of the city behind you. These sessions are ideal if you want a portfolio that looks like a story rather than a catalog. We typically wrap up in 2 to 4 hours, which is enough time to explore a few distinct pockets of the city without getting exhausted.

I am Anuj, a chhayachitrakar by choice. I find my calm in the chaos of the streets. Delhi’s historic alleys are my favorite escape because they offer a backdrop that you just cannot recreate in a studio.
