Jodi Mane: A Tale of Two Houses
This project was designed for two siblings, a 'Jodi Mane' or paired house, on a single plot in Mangalore. The design is a direct response to the hot, humid climate, using double-height spaces, large windows, and a central courtyard to ensure natural light and cross-ventilation. We blended modern aesthetics with vernacular elements like laterite stone walls and Athangudi tiles to create a home that is both contemporary and deeply rooted.
Modern Urban Residences
We specialize in designing homes within urban contexts, from compact city plots to luxurious villas. Our approach focuses on creating a sense of spaciousness and tranquility amidst the bustle of the city. We do this through intelligent space planning, maximizing natural light, and creating strong connections between indoor and outdoor living areas.
Malenadu Mane: A Home in the Western Ghats
This project was a unique opportunity to design a weekend residence that melts into a coffee and pepper plantation in the Western Ghats. The design prioritizes its relationship with the habitat, responding to the hilly terrain and capturing breathtaking views. We used a rustic yet contemporary aesthetic to create a home that feels both grounded and open to the vast landscape.
