About Floral Tips & Inspiration
If your hydrangeas start wilting, do not toss them out yet. You can revive them by cutting the stem at a 45 degree angle with a clean cross cut and placing the head into warm 40 degree water for about 25 minutes. This simple adjustment often brings them back to life, helping you get more joy out of every bloom.
Floral design is about more than just aesthetics, it is a practice of observation and care. Many of our students initially struggle with flower longevity, often keeping arrangements in direct sunlight or near AC vents which dehydrate petals quickly. Small habit changes, like misting blooms daily or removing wilted petals immediately, significantly extend the life of your arrangements. We emphasize these foundational habits in our courses because they ground your technical skills in reality.
Beyond maintenance, we look at flowers as a medium for creative expression. You will often see us working with floral foam for structured shapes like pomanders or topiaries, where balance is key. If you are looking for a creative outlet, know that arranging flowers is recognized as a form of natural therapy. It allows you to unplug from your digital life and connect with textures and colors in a way that lowers stress. Whether you are in our Dadar studio or setting up a home workspace, our goal is to help you master these techniques so you can confidently handle any floral project.
