Floristry is as much about the logistics of sourcing as it is about the art itself. See how we take our training beyond the classroom.

Our new batch on a factory visit to Smithers-Oasis. This trip is an essential part of our curriculum, giving students a first-hand look at the floral foams and sundries that are the foundation of our craft.

During the Smithers-Oasis factory visit, students attend a session to learn about the different products. Understanding the tools of the trade is crucial for any professional floral designer.

I believe in a comprehensive education. Here, I am addressing the students during our visit to the Smithers-Oasis factory, explaining the importance of quality materials in floral design.

A happy group of students after their insightful factory tour. These real-world experiences build confidence and provide a deeper understanding of the floral industry.

Students from our Pune batch at the local flower market. This hands-on experience teaches them how to identify fresh, high-quality flowers and foliage, a vital skill for a florist.

A group photo of our Pune Batch 10 during their market day. These visits are not just educational but also a great way to build camaraderie within the batch.

An instructor guides students through the bustling flower market, teaching them how to select the best blooms for their arrangements. This is practical learning at its best.

Meet Maximus Lalruatkima, our student trained at IFD, who is representing India at WorldSkills 2024. We are incredibly proud to support and train the next generation of global floral talent.

Maximus, our WorldSkills competitor, is seen here perfecting a large, complex arrangement during his intensive training at our institute. We prepare our students for the highest levels of competition.

This video showcases the journey of one of our alumni who, after training with us and competing in India Skills, is now a successful floral designer with Interflora in Dubai.

About Beyond the Classroom: Industry Immersion

In this module, we step out of the studio and into the actual supply chain. We take you to wholesale flower markets in Pune and Mumbai to learn how to negotiate and select the freshest stems, and visit production facilities to master the mechanical foundations of structural design. You aren't just learning to design; you are learning the trade from the ground up.

From Market Floor to Design Studio

True floral design is not just about aesthetics; it is about understanding your inventory. Many students come to us knowing how to arrange flowers, but they struggle with sourcing. Our market visits to places like the Dadar flower market are designed to teach you the 'language' of the market. You will learn how to identify fresh stock, the seasonality of specific flowers, and how to negotiate prices with wholesalers. This is practical, essential knowledge for anyone looking to turn floristry into a sustainable business.

The Mechanics of Mastery

Artistry fails without the right mechanics. Our exclusive visits to partners like Smithers-Oasis give you a first-hand look at how floral foams, wires, and sundries are engineered. Understanding the structural limits of the tools you use every day—such as how foam holds water or which wire gauge supports heavy stems—is what separates a hobbyist from a professional designer. You will see the science behind the art.

Preparing for Global Standards

For students aiming for the top, we provide intensive training for prestigious platforms like IndiaSkills and WorldSkills. This is where the pressure is on. It is not about making a pretty arrangement; it is about precision, timing, and innovation under strict guidelines. Whether you are aiming for a career in event styling, luxury retail, or global competition, our industry immersion program provides the roadmap to get there. We prepare you to walk into any floral environment and work with confidence.
