About Themed & Creative Portraits
For these themed sessions, I typically use a 50mm prime lens on my Sony setup. It keeps the background soft and the focus sharp on your expressions, which is exactly why I recommend choosing an outfit that contrasts well with the location's color palette—like the red shawl against a green cafe wall we used in one of my winter series shots.
Themed photography is about moving beyond the standard portrait to capture a specific mood, season, or chapter in your life. Whether we are chasing the vibrant chaos of a Holi shoot or the quiet, moody aesthetic of a winter series in a cafe, the goal is always to find the story within the concept.
When we plan a session, we start with your vision. I help bridge the gap between a mood board and the actual shoot. We might look at location choices like the urban streets of Connaught Place for a gritty fashion feel, or a quiet, textured cafe interior if you want something intimate and polished.
I shoot with a Sony A7sII, relying on fast prime lenses to get that clean separation from the background. Since I don't handle makeup or styling, I encourage clients to come prepared with their chosen look. For the best results, think about props and wardrobe texture—a heavy shawl, a vibrant dupatta, or a bouquet of roses can completely change the energy of an image.
For these sessions, you get 1.5 to 2 hours of shooting, which gives us enough time to settle in and try different angles. Everything is processed with signature color grading to keep the tones sharp and natural.
