Commercial and Hospitality Lighting Design
I treat commercial lighting as a strategic asset. By blending technical precision with artistic intent, I transform office exteriors and hospitality spaces into landmarks that command attention after dark.
The full facade of a commercial office block in Zirakpur, where I used integrated linear lighting to emphasize its modern, glass-paneled structure. The lighting gives the building a professional and high-tech identity.
A close-up view of the ground-level lighting for the Zirakpur office. In-ground uplights are used to wash the vertical fins with light, creating a rhythmic pattern and highlighting the adjacent landscaping.
This shot shows the interplay between two different lighting features on the commercial property. The structured, linear lighting on the right contrasts with the artistic, custom light installation on the left wall.
For this terrace lounge, the lighting is all about atmosphere. I designed custom overhead light structures that cast a warm, patterned glow over the seating area, creating an intimate and stylish outdoor space.
About Commercial & Hospitality Lighting
Before a single wire is laid, I run Dialux 3D simulations for every project. This allows us to predict exact lux levels on your building facade, ensuring your office frontage achieves a professional glow without the risk of glare or light pollution.
Commercial lighting is not about flooding a space with bulbs; it is about intentionality. A corporate office, a boutique hotel, or a terrace lounge all speak different languages. When I light a commercial facade, such as the office block in Zirakpur, my priority is the building’s identity. We use integrated linear lighting to accentuate modern materials, ensuring the architectural lines remain legible and striking even at night.
For hospitality projects, the goal shifts to human comfort. A restaurant or rooftop lounge requires a distinct rhythm. I utilize 2200K to 2700K warm dimming to create an environment where patrons feel relaxed, not exposed. My process relies on rigorous engineering:
- Simulation First: We map dark spots and calculate beam angles using Dialux software to eliminate guesswork.
- Durability: In the Indian climate, I specify IP65 and IP67-rated fixtures that resist dust and heavy monsoon rains.
- Scene Control: For large estates or lounges, I design distinct zones—such as security modes and party scenes—controlled via DALI or phase-cut systems.
Lighting is the jewellery of architecture. If your commercial space looks the same at night as it does during the day, it is missing the best opportunity to communicate your brand's presence.
