Daytime festivals present unique challenges. Without night-time lighting, the energy depends entirely on my mic work and track selection. I coordinate directly with your sound team to ensure our bass-heavy Bolly-Tech fusion hits hard, keeping the floor jumping while the colors are still flying.
Managing the Festival Energy
Playing for a Holi festival is a different beast compared to a dark club set. When the sun is high and the crowd is covered in color, you cannot rely on light shows to create the atmosphere. I use a high-tempo mix of Big Room EDM and high-octane Bollywood remixes to maintain that festival momentum. My sets are designed to survive the dust and the chaos, focusing on rhythmic drops that demand movement.
My Approach to Crowd Control
I don't just stand behind the console. If you want a party that people will be talking about, you need someone who knows how to talk to a massive crowd. I use the microphone for countdowns, call-outs, and sit-downs to keep the audience locked into the performance. My goal is to make sure every single person in that open field feels part of the madness.
Technical Requirements
- Sound Calibration: I perform a thorough sound check before the event starts. Bass requirements for open-air festivals are heavy, and I work with your sound engineers to ensure the PA system is tuned for the specific dynamics of the venue.
- Equipment Handling: I am comfortable with industry-standard Pioneer gear (CDJ 2000 Nexus and 3000s). Whether it is a hotel lawn or a large-scale festival ground, I bring the technical discipline to handle the production side, so you don't have to worry about the gear.
- Custom Sets: I spend time before the event curating tracks that fit the specific vibe of your crowd, whether it's a corporate carnival or a wild student party.
