About The Festive & Wedding Edit
I design all my festive sets with one non-negotiable feature: deep, functional pockets. Whether you are wearing a heavy Zardosi kurta set or a flowy silk kaftan, you will never have to worry about where to stash your phone or lipstick while you are busy enjoying the party. My festive pieces are built for real movement, not just for standing still and posing.
When you think of festive wear, you might imagine stiff fabrics and restrictive silhouettes that you cannot wait to take off. I started Wasabi to change that narrative. My festive and wedding edit is all about luxury that feels like a second skin.
We use breathable, premium textiles like Pure Chanderi, Habutai Silk, and Crepe to ensure you stay comfortable even through long wedding soirées or late-night Diwali card parties. Each piece is crafted by our local karigars who bring years of skill to details like French knots, Kantha embroidery, and Zardosi work.
Here is how I approach my festive designs:
- Fluid Silhouettes: I steer clear of tight, restrictive fits. Instead, my festive kurtas and dresses use anti-fit cuts that drape naturally, making them perfect for dancing or sitting comfortably for hours.
- Versatility: These aren't one-time-wear outfits. Style my embroidered tops with jeans for a casual lunch, or pair them with statement silk pants and heavy jewelry for a sangeet or cocktail night.
- Art-Inspired: Our prints are developed in-house, often inspired by paintings or unique moods, ensuring your outfit is distinct from the mass-produced designs you see everywhere else.
Whether you are looking for a pre-draped saree for a wedding function or a festive brocade jacket to layer over your favorite outfit, everything is handcrafted with care. Since these are made-to-order, please keep in mind that we need about 10 to 12 days to perfect your piece before it reaches you.
