Custom Home Theater and Media Room Designs
From dedicated private cinemas to clever living room media setups, I design spaces that prioritize both acoustic precision and visual comfort.
I designed this dedicated home cinema to be a complete escape. It features two tiers of plush recliner seating for an unobstructed view of the large projector screen, while a custom-built bar in the back makes it the perfect space for hosting.
A living room can become a cinematic paradise. Here, a high-definition projector screen descends from the ceiling, complemented by a bespoke entertainment unit that keeps the space elegant and functional for everyday life.
This private theater showcases a clean, modern aesthetic. The design focuses on the essentials of a perfect viewing experience: tiered leather recliners, a massive screen, and a dark, non-reflective environment to ensure total immersion.
Step inside a complete entertainment sanctuary. This tour highlights the flow from the comfortable, tiered seating to the integrated bar and lounge area, demonstrating how I create spaces that are about more than just watching movies.
For clients who prefer a sophisticated living room setup, I design custom media walls. This example features a large-screen TV, an integrated soundbar, and elegant wood paneling with accent lighting to create a stylish focal point.

About Featured
Deciding between a dedicated cinema room and a multi-use media space is your first real step. A dedicated room allows for deeper acoustic treatments and tiered seating to replicate a theater, whereas an integrated living room design focuses on hiding equipment in custom cabinetry so your space remains uncluttered when you are not watching movies.
How We Approach Your Space
I view a theater not just as a collection of electronics, but as an environment.
The Dedicated Cinema Room If you have an unused room, we can create a fully immersive sanctuary. This involves installing acoustic fabric panels on the walls to stop sound bounce, painting surfaces in dark, non-reflective colors, and building a wooden platform for tiered recliner seating. This setup is about absolute isolation and the authentic film experience.
The Integrated Media Living Room For many of my clients, a dedicated room is not an option. My solution here is to design high-quality media units that serve as the focal point of your living area. We use ceiling-mounted projectors and retractable screens that vanish when not in use. This keeps your home looking like a home, not a showroom, while still giving you a cinematic experience at night.
Lighting and Control Lighting is often overlooked. In a home theater, it is vital. I incorporate layered lighting, such as cove lights for ambiance and subtle step lights for safety, to ensure the room functions perfectly without causing eye strain. For larger lounge setups, I integrate app-based automation, allowing you to dim the lights and start the movie with a single tap.
