Master the Science of Beauty and Cosmetology
Real skills aren't just about applying product—it's about understanding why. Join my theory sessions to learn the science behind skin health, hair treatments, and professional makeup artistry.
Here I am giving a guest lecture at a school about skincare. I am explaining how to care for oily skin and prevent whiteheads and blackheads.
In this theory class, I am explaining the different types of skin: normal, dry, oily, and combination. Understanding skin types is the first step to becoming a good skin therapist.
I am explaining how combination skin can become sensitive if you use the wrong products. It is very important to analyze the skin correctly before starting any treatment.
During a guest lecture, I am explaining the science behind using bleach safely. I teach about pre-bleach and post-bleach care to protect the skin from chemicals.
I am explaining the purpose of a post-bleach cream. It helps to cool and soothe the skin after a chemical treatment and restores its balance.
A student asked a very good question about whether we can bleach after waxing. I am explaining why it is dangerous to apply bleach on freshly waxed skin as the pores are open.
A group photo with the students after a guest lecture at a government school. I am happy to share my knowledge and empower these young girls.
I am explaining the difference between a cosmetologist and a dermatologist. As cosmetologists, we work on the outer layer of the skin, so we must have deep knowledge about it.
About Learn the Theory, Master the Skill
A lot of people think makeup is just about blending, but I teach the science first. Whether it is knowing why your bleach reacts poorly on freshly waxed skin or how to identify oily versus sensitive zones, you need to know the 'why' before you pick up a brush. My students learn to diagnose skin conditions and treat them safely, not just cover them up.
Understanding the science behind your work is what separates an amateur from a professional. In my theory classes, I don’t just read from a book—we discuss real-life scenarios that you will face in the salon every day.
The Science of Skin
Many students come to me knowing how to apply foundation, but they don’t truly understand skin types. We deep dive into diagnosing Normal, Dry, Oily, and Combination skin. You will learn why applying an oil-control face wash on a dry zone causes sensitivity, and how to safely treat skin without damaging the moisture barrier. This is the difference between giving a client a glow or giving them a breakout.
Safety and Chemical Handling
Beauty work involves chemicals, and mistakes can be costly. I teach strict protocols for:
- Bleach Application: We cover why you never bleach freshly waxed skin (and what exactly happens to your pores when you do).
- Chemical Treatments: Understanding Trichology—the hair shaft, cuticle, and cortex—before you even touch Keratin, Botox, or Rebonding chemicals.
- Product Literacy: You will learn to distinguish between what a Cosmetologist treats on the outer layer and what a Dermatologist must handle medically.
This isn't about memorizing facts. It is about building the confidence to handle any client who sits in your chair, knowing you have the right answers to their skin and hair concerns. When you understand the logic, your hands move with confidence.
