About this collection
When you choose a storytelling design, we start by discussing the symbols that matter to your relationship. Whether it is a portrait of the couple, a depiction of your proposal, or a specific wedding motif, I map these onto your hands to ensure the flow and proportions look balanced before we begin the actual application.
Designing a portrait or narrative piece is fundamentally different from standard bridal patterns. While traditional designs rely on repetitive motifs like paisleys or flowers, storytelling henna requires a careful balance of negative space and detailed linework to ensure the faces and scenes remain recognizable as the stain develops.
Planning your custom design
We usually require a brief consultation call or a message exchange to share reference photos. If you have a specific scene in mind—perhaps the venue where you met or a shared hobby—I sketch these elements first. We then integrate them into the forearm designs, ensuring the composition works with your overall henna layout.
Technical precision
Portrait work on skin requires high precision. I use fine-tip cones for the facial features to ensure the eyes and jewelry details do not blur. Because this work is intensive, I recommend booking at least two months in advance, especially for wedding season dates in Bengaluru.
Practical details
- Custom designs add to the standard application time, so we plan the schedule accordingly.
- I use organic, triple-sifted henna to ensure the deepest possible stain for these intricate details.
- I am happy to travel for destination weddings if you want to keep your bridal artist consistent across your events.
