Engagement & Sangeet Draping and Styling

I focus on clean, structural drapes that stay perfect while you dance. Whether it is a half-saree for your engagement or a grand lehenga for your sangeet, I ensure your look is secure, sharp, and effortless.

A stunning half-saree look for an engagement. I draped the rich orange silk dupatta over an off-white skirt, creating sharp pleats for a look that is both traditional and stylish.

This half-saree style is perfect for a younger look. The navy blue skirt is paired with a red bandhani dupatta, which I draped with a neat side flow and paired with a fishtail braid.

A vibrant lehenga look for a pre-wedding event. I draped the dupattas to create a beautiful flow and color contrast, ensuring the bride can move and dance freely.

The viral 'Mogra' look. I created this stunning hairstyle with a long trail of jasmine flowers to complement a beautiful pleated gold lehenga, perfect for a grand sangeet or reception.

Another angle of the long jasmine flower braid, showing how it flows beautifully against the golden lehenga. This is a perfect example of a statement bridal look.

About this collection

For sangeet and engagement events, movement is everything. I don't just pin your saree; I use a 'structural lock' technique that keeps your pleats razor-sharp and your silhouette defined for over six hours, even if you are on the dance floor all night.

When you have a function like a sangeet, you don't want to be adjusting your dupatta every five minutes. My method is about fixing the fabric so it moves with you, not against you.

I handle every fabric differently, from heavy Kanchipuram silks to flowing georgettes and stiff tissue. For lehengas and half-sarees, I focus on 'paper finish' pleating—using a box-fold technique that makes the drape sit flat and stiff without flaring out unnecessarily. This gives you that clean, slim look that photographs beautifully from every angle.

My process is simple:

  • Assessment: I look at your outfit and the jewelry you plan to wear. If you have a heavy Vaddanam (waist belt), I ensure the drape is anchored so it doesn't snag or pull.
  • Technical Security: I use rust-free, double-lock pins and body tape to secure the structure. You can jump, dance, or sit, and the drape stays exactly where we set it.
  • Custom Draping: Whether you want a modern side-flow for your engagement or a traditional Gujarati style for the sangeet, I adapt the drape to your comfort level.

I am based in Bangalore but I travel across India for events. If you have an outfit that needs a specific silhouette, send me a photo before the date so we can plan the best way to style it.
