My FPV Journey: Learning to Fly Through Grit and Perspective
I started in 2017 with nothing but a YouTube search and a pile of broken props. This is my story of turning a messy, uncertain beginning into a career where the sky is my canvas.
First, they said, "Get a real job." Now, they ask, "How did you do it?" This reel is a testament to ignoring the noise, trusting your intuition, and staying consistent on your path.
The true magic of FPV is not in the flips or rolls. It is in the way you see what others miss. I believe in flying with intent and feeling, to express a story, not just to impress.
I always felt my videos lacked emotion. That is why I started the "100 Days of Flying" project, to travel across India and connect with native artists, capturing the true culture and people of our country.
It has been three years of flying FPV, and it has been nothing short of a dream. This hobby turned into a profession that lets me live a life I could have only imagined as a child.
A smile that shows the pure joy this journey has brought me. From remote places to the kindest people, FPV has given me countless memories and opportunities.
Why did I start FPV filmmaking? Here are my five reasons, from the unique perspectives and creative freedom to the incredible community and the pure adrenaline of the flight.
The only shortcut is to never give up. This is a reminder that consistency is the key to success. Every day you practice, you get a little bit better.
I read a quote that said, "Become a person who says he is going to do something, and just do it." That stuck with me. This "100 Days of Flying" project is me living that quote, chasing my dreams one flight at a time.
About My Journey & Philosophy
Most people start by buying the most expensive drone, which is the fastest way to get discouraged. In my mentorship, we start on the simulator until your muscle memory takes over. It saves you from that heartbreaking moment of shattering your first real drone and keeps the learning curve manageable while you build confidence.
Back in 2017, I was a broke 20-year-old with no mentor and a lot of frustration. FPV drones were my only escape. I learned the hard way—through trial, error, and crashing. This cluster page is more than a portfolio; it is a roadmap for anyone standing where I stood. Whether you are chasing cinematic drone shots for a brand or just want to capture travel POVs, the secret isn't better hardware. It is about understanding your flight mechanics and post-production workflow.
My philosophy on flight is simple: fly with intent. Don't just chase flips or fancy rolls. Use your 'birdie' to reveal the unseen, from high-speed landscape tracking to the stillness of a sunrise. Through my '100 Days of Flying' project, I realized that FPV is better when shared. That is why I built the SkySquad community. It is where we troubleshoot Betaflight configs, discuss gear choices, and collaborate on real-world projects in Delhi NCR and beyond. If you are serious about drone filmmaking, stop worrying about your gear and start focusing on your hours in the air. Bas shuru kar de.
