Drone Pilot Behind the Scenes: A Day in the Life
Ever wonder what goes into getting those perfect shots? Here is a raw look at my gear, my workflow, and the reality of a solo drone pilot's life on the road.
Aakela hi kafi ho. Sometimes it's just me, my drone, and an entire runway to myself on Agatti Island, Lakshadweep. This shot gives a sense of the scale and adventure involved in getting that one perfect aerial shot.

About The Drone Life (Behind the Scenes)
Being a solo pilot is mostly about preparation. Whether I am at a luxury resort or a remote location, the routine stays the same: scout the site, check wind speeds, and prep the FPV gear for that one perfect fly-through shot. It is just me and my drone, working to get it right on the first take.
People see the final 4K footage and think it is all glamour, but the 'drone life' is a grind. It is about waking up at 4 AM for the golden hour, carrying heavy cases through airports, and sometimes jumping into the water to retrieve an FPV drone after a wild chase shot. My setup is simple but precise. I use the DJI Mavic 3 for those smooth, establishing cinema shots and switch to my FPV Cinelog 35 for the fast, immersive dives that make a video pop.
The biggest hurdle is rarely the flying itself. It is the logistics, finding safe zones, and managing local permits before the light changes. I am a one-man army. When you hire me, you get the pilot, the camera operator, and the editor all in one. I travel everywhere, from the beaches of Lakshadweep to the crowded streets of Delhi, always carrying my gear. If a location is tough to access, that is usually where the best shots are hiding. I do not just fly a drone, I hunt for the angle that makes people stop scrolling and say, 'kya view hai.' If you have a vision, whether it is for a wedding, a real estate project, or a music video, let us make it happen.
