Behind the Scenes: My Organic Gardening Journey
Gardening is my therapy and my constant work in progress. Welcome to the honest, messy, and rewarding world of my home garden where we learn, grow, and fail together.
When people ask where I am when I'm offline, this is the answer. I'm in my garden, finding my peace. Getting my hands in the mitti, caring for my plants, and watching them grow is the best therapy.
This is my point of view when I'm offline. It's all about being with my plants, whether I'm repotting, sowing seeds in trays, or preparing grow bags for the next season. This is my happy place.
Gardening is all about patience. It's a slow process, from preparing the beds to sowing seeds and waiting. But the joy of finally harvesting your own vegetables makes all the hard work worth it. Go 'ahista ahista' with the process and believe in tomorrow.
Come along with me on a plant shopping trip to my favourite nursery in Delhi. I picked up some Ficus, Champa, and even two huge 12-foot trees that I had to bring home in a rickshaw. Bringing new plants to the garden is always the best feeling.
It was heartbreaking to uproot my old garden, my Green Heaven. The house is now empty walls. It will take time to skip to the good part, but I look forward to building a new garden in my new home with new plants. Your support means a lot.
About Behind the Scenes: My Garden & Me
Gardening is not just about the final bloom. My journey includes plenty of real-world challenges, like local peacocks snacking on my seedlings and the occasional crop failure. I share these behind-the-scenes moments to remind you that patience, not perfection, is the real key to growing your own food.
For me, my terrace garden, which I call Green Heaven, is more than just a hobby. It is my therapy. Building it with my own hands and sweat has taught me that the process, or what I call 'ahista ahista' (slowly, slowly), is just as important as the harvest. You will see in these photos that it is not all perfectly manicured rows of vegetables. It involves messy soil mixing, back-breaking work, and constant problem-solving.
I recently had to uproot my garden and empty my space, which was a difficult moment for any plant parent. However, gardening is about believing in tomorrow. Whether you are dealing with pests, poor drainage, or just don't know where to start, you are not alone. My work is about keeping it simple and practical for everyone. I use common household items to feed plants, fix potting mixes with basic ingredients like river sand, and set up protections like green nets to handle the Delhi heat. If you are starting out or just stuck with a plant that won't thrive, remember that every mistake is just a lesson waiting to happen. Let's grow together.
