My Personal Gardening Journey
I’m Shailee, and this is my little green space. From full terrace setups to my current hostel balcony, I’ve learned that plants grow wherever there is a little love. Let’s explore it together!
A quiet moment in my garden back home before moving to a new city for college. I made sure to bring some of my green companions with me to start my new gardening journey.
A happy smile while getting my hands dirty. This plant is ready for a new home, and repotting is one of my favorite therapeutic gardening activities.
Look at this beautiful white marigold. This is the first one I have ever grown from a seed, and I could not be prouder of this lovely, delicate bloom.
Another shot of my homegrown white marigold, this time catching the sunlight perfectly. The next step in my gardening adventure is to learn how to harvest seeds from this flower.
About My Gardening Journey
I actually moved my own green companions across cities when I started college. It was a challenge, but it taught me that you can grow a garden anywhere, even in a small hostel room using old plastic containers and simple kitchen scraps.
Gardening isn't always about perfect Pinterest photos. Sometimes it's about monkeys raiding your corn or figuring out how to revive a drooping plant during exam week. My journey started with dadaji and a full garden, but shifting to a new city forced me to rethink everything. I had to get creative.
Why I Love This
- Best out of waste: If you have a plastic bottle or an old coffee cup, you have a pot. I focus on zero-cost methods so you can start right now without buying expensive gear.
- Real-life experiments: You will see my wins, like the white marigold I grew from seed, and my losses. We learn by trial and error here.
- Community growth: Through our seasonal masterclasses, we don't just watch tutorials. We grow together with 30-day private support, sharing updates and troubleshooting when things go wrong.
Can you garden in a hostel?
Yes. You do not need a fancy terrace. Even a windowsill with good sunlight is enough for succulents or a small herb patch. The goal is to connect with nature, even if it is just one plant on your desk. I am here to help you figure out what grows best in your specific space.
