About Ornamental & Indoor Plant Care
My Plant Care Journey
For me, plants are more than decoration - they’re therapy. I’ve messed up plenty, especially in the beginning, but ahista ahista (slowly, slowly), you figure things out. Watching a new leaf pop out after weeks of waiting feels like magic, honestly.
Basics That Actually Work
I keep things simple:
- Most indoor plants (Areca Palm, Monstera) thrive on bright, indirect light. Par (but), some flowering champs like Bougainvillea need full sun to look their best.
- My watering rule: poke a finger in the soil. If the top inch is dry, I water deeply, but never let things get soggy.
- My sustainable potting mix is a blend of soil, river sand, and compost. Good drainage is sabse zaroori (most important), or roots will rot.
Feeding & Boosters
Plants love a little monthly khuraak (food) - compost mixed into the top soil during spring and summer. For extra flower power, I use DIY organic plant fertilizer like ground banana peels. Eggshell powder gives a calcium boost.
Keeping Plants Happy
Trimming dead leaves keeps growth strong. Neem oil spray sorts out most pests. For balcony plant protection during brutal summers, I use a green net to save them from burning up.
My Favourites
Monstera is super easy from cuttings if you spot a node. Bougainvillea needs a bit of stress for wild blooms (I skip watering in winter). Cactus? Loves full sun and dry soil.
Honest Advice
Toh, just start. Plants die sometimes. No big deal. Every mistake teaches you something. Enjoy the ride!

My Story
Hi, I'm Himanshu. If you ask my friends, they'll say 'Sab ped paudho main lga dia' (I spent all my money on plants) - and yeah, guilty as charged. My terrace is my Green Heaven, built with my own hands, sweat, and a bit of madness. It’s not all rosy - back pain, soil bags, and a peacock who loves my seedlings more than I do! Gardening is slow, ahista ahista, but the happiness of eating your own tomato is worth every bit.
