Core Skills & Technical Coaching
We build your game from the ground up. Our step-by-step method helps you master the fundamentals—racket grip, swing mechanics, and court movement—so you play with confidence and precision.
Our instructional videos break down the mechanics of key shots. Learn the common faults in a backhand drive, the correct elbow position for a drop shot, and the 'backhand diamond' for better racket preparation.

We explain the 'why' behind the technique. These clips detail our three-step coaching process, the importance of the non-playing arm for balance, and how to find your optimal 'T' position.

About Core Skills & Technical Coaching
Many players try to force their swing to generate power, but we believe in a simpler approach: focus on the movement, and the swing open ho jayega khud (will open up on its own). We don't just feed balls; we fix the technical details that actually stop you from improving, like your T-position and racket preparation. You will spend real time mastering the basics—the grip, the elbow alignment, and the footwork—because a strong foundation is what allows you to eventually play with speed and deception.
At GGems Squash Academy, we treat technical training as a three-step process: identify the technical focus, find rhythm through relaxation, and finally, hit the target. Whether you are training at our Yamuna Sports Complex or Ahlcon International School locations, our methodology remains the same. We focus on structural integrity.
Why Technique Comes First
If your racket preparation is late, or your elbow is too high, no amount of force will get the ball to the back of the court consistently. We drill the 'backhand diamond'—aligning shoulder, elbow, and wrist—to ensure you stop over-rotating and start controlling the ball.
Our Technical Focus Areas
- Racket Preparation: We prioritize early prep. Whether it is a forehand drop or a backhand drive, getting the racket up before the ball bounces is the first rule we enforce.
- The 'T' Position: We teach you to stay light on your toes. If you are flat-footed, you are already behind the play. We work on your balance and agility so you can move from the 'T' to any corner of the court efficiently.
- Deception & Control: Once your mechanics are solid, we introduce deception. Using the same swing for a drop shot or a long drive is what separates intermediate players from advanced ones.
We provide 1-on-1 sessions for dedicated technical fixes and group coaching for those who need repetition. If you have been struggling with a specific shot or feeling 'stuck' in your movement, come to a session, and we will break it down piece by piece.
