About White-Water Rafting Expeditions
Every rafting session begins with dry-land training where you will learn the essential commands and safety drills from our National-level coaches. Whether you are navigating the Grade 3 rapids of the Barapole River or the scenic Kali, you will be trained to read the water, manage your paddle, and work as a unit. This is about learning to control the raft before you ever face the rush of the current.
Our expeditions are structured to move you from a novice to a confident rafter. We operate across two main hubs: the Kali River in Dandeli and the Barapole River in Coorg. Each location offers a distinct challenge.
The Training Approach
We do not just put you on the water. Every participant undergoes a mandatory briefing on river hydrology—learning to identify eddies, holes, and current lines. You will practice 'Wet Exits' and aggressive swimming techniques in a safe environment, ensuring that if you do fall, you know how to react instinctively. Our instructors are trained to manage high-intensity situations, and we provide professional-grade life jackets and impact-resistant helmets for every trip.
Choose Your Intensity
- 2-Day Expedition: Ideal for beginners and weekend adventurers. This includes a 20km river run, one night of camping, and an official GETHNAA participation certificate. It is the perfect introduction to Grade 2-4 rapids.
- 5-Day Certification Course: For those who want to master the river. This intensive program covers navigation, self-rescue, and raft control in Grade 3 water. You will spend sunrise to sunset in immersive training, earning a Level 1 White Water Basic certification upon completion.
Practical Details
We provide all specialized gear, including self-bailing rafts and safety equipment. You need to bring a sense of adventure, basic physical fitness, and a change of clothes. Accommodation is communal, typically in shared tents or dorms near the river bank, keeping you close to the action. Whether you are a solo traveler, a family, or a group looking for a team-building challenge, our courses ensure you leave with more than just a photo—you leave with the skills to handle the river.
