About Fashion & Jewellery Campaigns
For campaigns, I rely on the Fujifilm GFX medium format system. It provides a level of skin texture, color depth, and sharpness that commercial jewellery and fashion work demands. My process involves collaborating with a full crew of stylists and lighting assistants to ensure every detail, from the jewellery's lustre to the fabric's drape, is captured exactly as intended.
A successful fashion campaign is not just about the model. It is a technical effort that requires precise art direction, controlled lighting, and a clear vision. When I shoot for luxury jewellery brands like Renu Oberoi, we spend days in pre-production planning the mood, scouting locations, and coordinating with a full team of stylists and makeup artists.
My approach to commercial photography is minimal and clean. I avoid the current trend of heavy digital manipulation or AI-generated backgrounds. Instead, I use lighting setups that naturally highlight the product, whether it is a delicate diamond necklace or a high-fashion editorial lookbook. I bring in professional lighting assistants and handle the tethered capture, so we can review the images on-set in real-time. This collaborative setup is crucial for editorial and advertising work, where there is zero margin for error.
