About Documentary Portrait Photography
What I Do
My camera is my way of collecting stories. Whether it's the quiet at a Chhath Puja, the rush at a market, or the colours of Holi, I’m drawn to real moments, not staged ones. Sometimes, all you get is one fleeting glance - that's the magic I try to catch.
Documentary Portraits, Not Studio Shoots
Here, you won't find studio lights or forced smiles. Instead, I shoot you in your world - at home, at work, wherever life happens. The goal is to make portraits that feel honest, using only natural light and the environment around you. If you’re after those candid environmental portraits, this is it.
How I Work
- I use only natural light, whether it’s the mist off the river or the heat of festival fires.
- Sometimes I go for raw black and white for emotion, sometimes vibrant colour for a festival. It depends on the story.
- Framing is all about context - close-up for intensity, wide for the full scene.
- Real life photography storytelling - that’s what drives my lens.
Who This Is For
If you want portraits that show real life, not just a pretty face, we’ll get along. I work with NGOs, publications, and anyone who values unfiltered reality over curated perfection. Culture, emotion, human impact photo essays - that’s my zone.
Sab moh maya hai (it’s all an illusion) but I chase what’s real, always.

My Story
Hi, I’m Sushant. Most days, you’ll catch me somewhere between Delhi and the next festival, camera in hand. I chase stories—Holi colours in Barsana, Chhath in Bihar, foggy mornings at Yamuna ghat. Baarish rukti hai, aarti nahi rukti (rain stops but prayer doesn’t). My lens finds peace in mountains, faces, and the everyday. Sab moh maya hai, mann ko shanti toh Siv me hai (all is illusion, peace is in Shiva). I just want to show you what I see.
My Work
My Photography Services - I do festival documentary photography, real street moments, cultural portraiture, and aerial drone storytelling. Open for collaborations.
Cultural Storytelling - I travel across India to capture the soul of traditions—like Theyyam or Masaan Holi—showing the raw emotion and living culture.
Aerial Navigator - Drone shots give a fresh angle—Ganga Aarti from above, Delhi’s monuments, city lights. It’s a new way to see old stories.
A Wanderer's Eye - Not into posed stuff. I’m after real moments, true essence. If you want genuine stories, let’s talk.
