A top-down shot of a rich chocolate almond cake, with a slice cut out to show the texture inside. This flatlay style is perfect for menus and social media, showing the cake, a coffee, and the ingredients.
This Biscoff cheesecake was a dream to shoot. I used bright, even lighting to highlight the smooth, creamy texture and the signature caramel drip, making it look absolutely delicious.
Nothing beats a perfect cookie-break shot. Here, I captured the moment of breaking a warm, gooey, chocolate-filled cookie, a visual that instantly triggers cravings.
A cozy, rainy-day scene featuring a slice of chocolate cake, a hot cup of coffee, and a good book. This lifestyle approach helps customers imagine themselves enjoying the dessert.

This layered chocolate tub dessert is all about texture. I styled it with its ingredients like chocolate chips and crumble to give customers a hint of what's inside.
These mini pistachio and chocolate cakes are pure elegance. I styled them on minimalist ceramic pedestals to give them a sophisticated, gourmet look.
Delicate layered cakes with edible flowers and gold leaf. The bright, airy styling on white marble makes them look light, precious, and utterly beautiful.
Mini Black Forest-inspired cakes, styled with fresh cherries and chocolate shavings. The composition is playful yet elegant, perfect for a modern patisserie.
Coffee-flavoured mini cakes that look as good as they taste. I paired them with a cup of black coffee and coffee beans to visually communicate the flavour profile.
About Modern Desserts & Bakes
The secret is in the styling and the light. I spend time arranging the crumbs, the drips, and the fresh garnishes so the photo feels like an experience rather than just a product shot. It is about capturing that 'slice of heaven' look that makes your customers stop scrolling and actually order.
When I shoot desserts, my goal is simple: I want the viewer to smell the sugar and feel the texture through the screen. Whether it is a gooey, chocolate-filled cookie or a delicate, airy cheesecake, the lighting needs to change to match the personality of the bake.
My Approach to Sweet Shoots
- Texture Over Everything: I focus on the micro-details. A slight drizzle of caramel, the uneven surface of a fresh-baked muffin, or the way chocolate snaps—these are what make a photo look real, not staged.
- Styling for the Vibe: A rustic brownie needs a different setup than a sophisticated macaron. I use props like brassware for a traditional desi feel, or clean, minimalist marble and ceramics for a modern, high-end patisserie look.
- Natural vs. Studio Light: I constantly adjust lighting to ensure the bake looks fresh. If we are aiming for cozy, rainy-day vibes, we use warm, soft light. If it’s a bright, fun summer menu, we go for clean, airy light that makes the colors pop.
How We Work Together
I handle the full setup, styling, and shoot. You do not need to worry about the logistics of making the food look perfect; that is where I come in. I collaborate with your team to understand your brand's aesthetic—whether you are a home baker with a niche menu or a commercial bakery with a catalog of hundreds of items.
Beyond just stills, I love capturing the action shots. If you have a gooey center or a beautiful glaze, let’s film it. A short video of a spoon breaking into a dessert is often the best way to convert a browser into a buyer.
