About Behind the Scenes: My Process
People often ask how I get those deep, dark stains for my brides. It is not a secret formula, just the way I prepare my organic henna. I mix the paste and fill every cone myself to make sure there are no chemicals, just pure henna that gives you that rich, long-lasting colour. Watching me work is seeing that process in action—from the first outline to the final, tiny details that make your design truly yours.
Mehndi is about more than just the pattern on your skin. When you see me working, you are watching hours of patience and steady-hand practice. Whether I am drawing a traditional doli, a portrait of the couple, or intricate floral jaal, I focus on the flow of the design. My process starts with understanding what you want—if it is a love story, a special date, or a religious symbol, I figure out how to place it so it looks balanced on your hands.
I am a self-taught artist based in Delhi, and I have learned everything by doing. This means my technique is built on what actually works for my brides. I use a fine-tip cone for precision, especially when I am doing portrait work or delicate script. For figures like Radha-Krishna or elephant processions, I build the sketch first and then fill it with patterns to ensure it looks sharp.
The best part of this job is the end result. After the application, the wait for the stain to develop is always exciting. Because I make my own henna without synthetic additives, the colour comes out deep and dark. If you are looking for a bridal mehendi artist in Delhi who cares as much about the final stain as the design itself, I would love to be part of your day. I travel across Delhi NCR for bookings, and I am happy to chat about what you envision for your ceremony.
