About Themed Birthday & Cake Smash Sessions
I handle everything from the initial setup and custom theme planning to the post-shoot cleanup, so your only job is to enjoy the moment. We usually start with a clean portrait session before moving into the cake smash itself, allowing for two outfit changes and ensuring we capture both the sweet, quiet moments and the chaotic, frosting-covered fun.
Your Custom Session
Every birthday shoot is designed around your child. Whether you are dreaming of a whimsical mermaid setting, a rugged jungle adventure, or a classic, clean aesthetic, I work with you to plan every detail. The studio is sanitized and temperature-controlled, making it a safe, comfortable space for babies and toddlers to explore.
What to Expect
We dedicate two hours to the session, which allows plenty of time for breaks, feeding, and comforting if your little one gets overwhelmed. My approach is to move at their pace. We start by taking classic, posed portraits while they are fresh and clean, before bringing out the giant cupcake. This ensures you get a beautiful variety of images—from sweet, thoughtful expressions to the hilarious, messy reality of them digging into the cake.
The Details
- Decor & Props: Everything is provided. I curate balloon arches, crates, fairy lights, and specific props based on your chosen theme.
- Outfits: We plan for two outfit changes: one for the initial portraits and one for the smash.
- Cleanup: I take care of the mess. You walk in for the session and walk out without worrying about the frosting or the cleanup.
- Editing: You receive 20-25 high-resolution, professionally edited images that highlight the joy and details of the day.
