Costume design is about translating a story into something the audience can truly feel. For the film 'Cartoons', we worked closely with the director and cast to recreate that specific 90s nostalgia, ensuring every outfit helped tell the character's journey without feeling like just a costume.

The process starts long before the cameras roll. It begins with a deep dive into the script. I sit with the director to understand the emotional tone, the era, and exactly how each character needs to project their personality. Whether we are aiming for a gritty, realistic 90s vibe or something fresh and modern, the clothes have to feel like a natural extension of the person wearing them.

Sourcing fabrics and coordinating with tailors is just the start. The real work happens on set during continuity checks. We have to ensure every detail stays consistent across scenes, even when we are shooting completely out of sequence. It is not always as glamorous as it looks—there is a lot of running around, steaming outfits, and managing quick changes between shots—but seeing it all click on camera is pure magic.

I enjoy the intensity of film sets, working with the team to manage budgets, and coordinating with assistants to keep the production flowing smoothly. My goal is always to make the actors feel confident in what they are wearing, so they can focus on their performance.
