Pregnancy and Postpartum Physiotherapy for Safe Recovery
Pregnancy is a massive physical shift, but constant pain is not a requirement. From managing back pain to preparing your body for labor and postpartum recovery, I use safe, guided therapy to keep you moving comfortably.
Our antenatal physiotherapy services are designed to make your pregnancy journey more comfortable. As shown in this graphic, we focus on boosting strength, reducing back pain and fatigue, and preparing your body for labor with safe, expert-guided exercises.
Kegel exercises are essential for both prenatal and postpartum care. This demonstration shows how to properly engage the pelvic floor muscles to prevent issues like incontinence, support your growing baby, and speed up recovery after childbirth.
About Pregnancy & Postpartum Physiotherapy
Many moms come to me thinking back pain or pelvic heaviness is just part of pregnancy, but it doesn't have to be. In my sessions, we don't just do generic stretches; I use specific manual lymphatic drainage and pelvic floor engagement techniques that are safe for both you and your baby. Whether you are dealing with diastasis recti postpartum or sciatica during your third trimester, we tackle it directly with a plan that fits your mobility levels.
Your Body, Your Recovery
Pregnancy and postpartum are intense on the body. Whether it is the weight shift impacting your lower back or the hormonal changes affecting your pelvic health, you deserve more than just 'dealing with it.' My approach at Velocity Fitness Clinic is evidence-based and practical: we don't use guesswork, we use strategy.
Antenatal Care
For expecting mothers, we focus on prep and pain relief. This includes:
- Pain Management: Targeted manual therapy for sciatica, pelvic girdle pain, and lower back aches.
- Labor Prep: Training in breathing techniques and optimal birthing positions to help you feel more confident.
- Mobility: Gentle exercises to reduce swelling (edema) and improve circulation.
Postpartum Rehabilitation
Post-delivery recovery isn't just about 'bouncing back'—it's about healing correctly. We address:
- Diastasis Recti: Assessing and fixing abdominal muscle separation through controlled core engagement.
- Pelvic Floor Health: Guided Kegel protocols to support your recovery, prevent incontinence, and improve pelvic stability.
- Ergonomics: Practical advice for breastfeeding postures and lifting mechanics to protect your back while handling your baby.
How We Work
I run sessions out of my clinics in Pitampura, Ashok Vihar, and Inder Puri, but I understand that traveling with a newborn or in late-stage pregnancy is difficult. For this reason, we offer Home Physiotherapy across Delhi. When I visit, I bring portable electrotherapy (TENS/IFT) units and resistance bands to your residence, ensuring you get the same quality of care as you would in the clinic.
If you have questions about your specific stage of pregnancy or recovery, reach out. Dard ko nazarandaaz mat karo (don't ignore the pain)—let's address it properly.
