About Mastering the Bow: Recurve, Compound & Indian
Beginners often wonder if they need to invest in expensive gear immediately. Here, you don't. Our foundation program provides all necessary equipment—including wooden bows and arrows—so you can focus entirely on learning the fundamental T-Draw stance and proper anchoring without worrying about initial costs or equipment setup.
Archery is about consistency, and that comes from mastering the specific mechanics of your chosen bow. At Drona Archery Academy, we break down your training based on the equipment you use.
Understanding Your Discipline
- Indian Bow (Traditional): Perfect for beginners and those looking to build fundamental strength. We teach you the basics of stance, aiming, and the smooth release required to hit short-distance targets (5m–10m) with precision.
- Recurve Archery: This is the Olympic-style discipline. We guide you through the transition to metal risers, helping you manage sights, stabilizers, and clickers. Our training covers form tuning, back tension, and the mental focus needed for standard distances up to 50m.
- Compound Bow: Designed for precision and power. For those moving into advanced training, we focus on the mechanics of pulley systems, draw length, and micro-tuning. You will learn to shoot at 70-meter ranges with the same professional setup used in national competitions.
Where We Train
We run focused sessions at two key locations in New Panvel: the Karnala Sports Academy and the Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus. We offer both morning and evening batches to accommodate students, working professionals, and athletes prepping for tournament schedules.
Why Perfect Practice Matters
Our coaching isn't just about shooting arrows. It is about technique correction. We use video analysis for our competitive students to identify micro-errors in form, helping you adjust your grip or follow-through before they become bad habits. Whether you are using a Hoyt Stratos or a basic wooden bow, we ensure every shot is purposeful. If you are ready to move from a hobbyist to a competitor, we provide the tournament simulations and mental conditioning necessary to perform under pressure.
