Emergency Tick and Flea Treatment for Dogs
When a tick infestation becomes a health crisis, we step in. It is rarely easy to look at, but sometimes a full shave is the only way to help your dog recover safely.
This video shows the severe state of a Husky who came to me with a massive tick infestation. You can see the parasites covering his skin, which required an emergency corrective grooming session.
For his safety and mine, a muzzle was necessary during the grooming process. The close-up shows the extent of the tick problem on his neck and body before we began the shave-down.
A detailed look at the dog's skin, revealing dozens of ticks latched on. A full shave is the most effective method for a tick removal treatment of this severity.
Here is the Husky after the full-body shave. He is completely free from the ticks and can now begin his recovery. This is a clear case where health must come before appearance.
About Emergency Tick & Flea Removal
This is not a standard grooming session. When parasites have taken over, a full body shave is often the only way to reach the skin and effectively treat the infestation. We prioritize your dog's safety throughout this process, using a basket muzzle when needed and performing a deep clean of our salon immediately after to stop the spread. It is about immediate medical relief, not aesthetics.
Ticks and fleas can quickly turn from a nuisance into a painful health emergency. If you are seeing clusters of parasites or your dog is constantly biting and scratching, waiting often makes it worse.
My Medical Tick Infestation Rescue is designed for these severe cases.
The Approach
We start with a full body shave. I know many owners hesitate at the idea of shaving, especially with double coated breeds, but keeping the fur on hides the problem and makes effective treatment impossible. By exposing the skin, we can manually extract engorged ticks from sensitive areas like ears, paws, and neck.
Safety First
We use medical grade anti-tick formulations for the soak. Because these procedures can be stressful and sometimes painful for the dog, we use a basket muzzle to ensure the safety of both your pet and my team. After the treatment, every corner of the studio is sterilized to prevent any risk of cross-contamination.
Post-Grooming
Once the parasites are gone, your dog will finally get some peace. We focus on relief, not the cut. You will leave with a clean slate to begin your vet-prescribed recovery plan. Your dog will feel lighter and much more comfortable immediately.
