Moving Beyond the Basics

When a dog understands basic sit, stay, and come commands, they are ready for the next step. Advanced training shifts the focus from simple compliance to real-world reliability. My advanced course is designed for dogs that are already proficient in the basics and need a new challenge to stay sharp.

What We Cover

Distance Control It is easy to control a dog when you are holding the leash or standing right next to them. It is much harder to get them to sit or stay from 10 to 20 feet away. We work on verbal cues and hand signals so your dog listens even when they are across the room or in the yard.

Fun & Engaging Tricks Training should be a game for your dog. I teach tricks that challenge them physically and mentally, including:

• Roll Over (360 degrees)
• Shake Hands and High Five
• Army Crawl
• "Say Hello" (a controlled bark or bow)

Proofing Your Training This is where we simulate real-life distractions. We practice keeping your dog in a "Place" when guests come to the door or executing commands while toys and food are nearby. The goal is to make sure your dog listens to you regardless of what is happening around them.

Course Structure

This is a 12-session course spread over one month. Because we are teaching complex behaviors and distance work, consistent practice is necessary. We focus on building the bond between you and your dog, ensuring that even the most stubborn pup learns to pay attention to your voice and tone.
