About Outdoor Festivals & Large-Scale Events
Most DJs just play music. For outdoor festivals, I manage the stage. I am constantly on the mic, controlling the crowd's energy from the first light to the main drops. If your event has SFX, pyro, or CO2 cannons, I coordinate directly with your tech team to sync every blast with the beat. You need someone who can command the space, and that is exactly what I do.
When you move from a club to a festival, the game changes. You are not playing to a room; you are playing to a sea of people under the open sky. That requires a specific kind of stamina and a deep technical understanding of how sound travels in open-air venues.
My Approach to Festivals
I treat every outdoor gig like a headliner set. Whether it is a daytime Holi festival where the sun is beating down or a nighttime stage at Wonderla, I keep the BPM and the crowd intensity in constant flux. My sets are designed to be dynamic—blending heavy-hitting Bollywood with commercial bangers and EDM transitions that keep the floor moving for hours.
Technical Coordination
Outdoor sound requires coordination that club sets do not. I come prepared with a full tech rider, but I also work as an extension of your production team.
- Sound & PA: I know how to calibrate levels for open-air environments so the bass hits hard without distorting.
- SFX Sync: I don't just wait for the drop. I cue the CO2, the confetti, and the lights to ensure every visual element matches the intensity of the track.
- Crowd Control: When you have thousands of people, silence is your enemy. I use the mic to keep the energy levels high, manage the flow of the crowd, and keep everyone engaged between the transition phases.
