About Club Nights & Public Gigs
When I am on the console, my goal is not just to play tracks in a row. I watch how the floor reacts to the current tempo. If the energy dips during a Bollywood set, I will immediately pivot to an Afro House transition or a classic Punjabi remix to bring the crowd back up. It is about reading the room in real-time, not just sticking to a pre-planned playlist.
My Approach to the Club Scene
I have spent two decades behind the decks, and the rule is simple: if the crowd stops moving, I am not doing my job. My club sets are a fusion of Bollywood, Tech House, and Indo House—a style I call BollyTech. I do not believe in playing static playlists. Whether it is a Monday night 'Mondaze' session at Happy Brew or a packed Saturday night at Magique, the music shifts based on who is standing in front of me.
Where I Play
You will find me performing at Bengaluru’s most vibrant venues. From the high-energy interiors of Tipsy Bull in Koramangala to the upscale vibe at Badmaash in UB City, I tailor my sets to fit the venue. If it is a more intimate space like Toca on Brigade Road, I keep the transitions tight and the bassline punchy. If it is a large-scale commercial space like Gawky Goose, I lean into bigger hooks and more interactive MCing to reach the back of the room.
Why My Sets Feel Different
- Dynamic Mixing: I don't just drop the beat. I blend genres to catch people off guard. Taking a classic 90s Bollywood hook and dropping it into an Afro House beat is a guaranteed way to wake up a room.
- The 'Are Chak!' Energy: Music is only half the battle. I use the microphone to hype the crowd, call out the energy, and keep the momentum high. If the dance floor needs a push, I give it one.
- Adaptability: I can read a crowd of party-goers in a club differently than a wedding guest list. For club nights, I have the freedom to be experimental with my sound production and live remixes.
