Behind the Decks: My Process and Personality
You see the wild party videos and think it is all just fun and games. In reality, it has taken 20 years of consistency to learn how to keep the dance floor packed for any crowd!
In this interview, I talk about my journey, from starting as a necessity to pay my fees to where I am today. It's all about hard work and showcasing your art.
A public service announcement for all baraat attendees. I control the music, but the truck driver controls the speed. A little behind-the-scenes humor from my world.
A podcast host asked if wedding DJs even mix music. My response: "No no, it's all pre-mixed. We only came for the food." A little sarcasm to answer a common question.
My secret recipe for success. Here are four reasons why DJs must update their remixes every few months to stay fresh and keep the audience engaged.
One rainy afternoon, an idea for a new track came to me in the studio. This is where the magic begins.

A duplicate of 121, at the launch of Badmaash with Mouni Roy. It's always a pleasure to share the stage with other talented artists.
About Behind the Decks: My Process & Personality
When I am in the studio or setting up for a gig, the goal is always the same. It is not about playing a pre-recorded set to save time. It is about reading the room, checking the energy, and making sure your masi and your little cousin both have a reason to hit the floor.
People often ask if I just stand behind the console for fun. The truth is, there is a technical side to this that most do not see. I spend hours in my studio, not just mixing tracks, but hunting for the right transitions to make Bollywood hits blend with Afro House and Tech House.
A huge part of my process is the pre-event consultation. We will sit down for 45 minutes to talk about what you actually want to hear. If you have a specific list of tracks for your Sangeet, we will go through it. If there are songs you absolutely hate, I want to know that first. This is how we avoid the standard playlist trap.
Regarding the baraat, please remember my rule. I handle the music, but the driver handles the truck. If you want the music faster, talk to the guy behind the wheel. I am here to make sure your groom entry has the perfect bass and the right energy, not to control the traffic speed.
Finally, I am a big believer in refreshing my remix library constantly. If you book me for a reception or a private party, you are getting tracks that are current, clean, and tested. I do not play recycled sets from two years ago. I am here to make your event sound like the party you actually envisioned.
