Behind the Decks: My Technical Setup and DJ Process
A look at the gear, the rhythm, and the focus that go into crafting a musical journey. This is how I manage the sound, visuals, and energy for your event.
Focused and ready at the console during an outdoor day event. I adapt my music and energy to fit the venue and time of day, whether it's a sundowner session or a late-night party.
About this collection
You will notice the Pioneer CDJ setup in these photos because that is where my technical process starts. Using a Pioneer CDJ 2000 NXS2 or 3000 paired with my MacBook Pro, I manage real-time transitions and live VDJ mixing. This equipment gives me the reliability to switch from a high-energy EDM beat to a Bollywood track without a single second of dead air, keeping your dance floor full and the energy consistent.
My approach to live performance relies on three core elements: the hardware, the visual aspect, and the ability to read the room.
The Hardware
I bring my own industry-standard console and laptop, requiring only a solid PA system from the venue. This setup allows me to pull from an extensive library of open-format music. Whether your audience needs retro rock for a networking sundowner or high-bpm dance tracks, I can pivot immediately without breaking the flow.
The VDJ Experience
As a VDJ, I do not just play audio. I synchronize official music videos and custom branding visuals to the beat. For corporate events, I can integrate your company logo or event themes into the video mix, turning your stage into a dynamic screen that keeps guests watching as much as they are listening.
Reading the Room
Seventeen years in the industry, from clubs in Bangalore to corporate galas in Hyderabad, has taught me that the DJ booth is a bridge. I watch the crowd’s response to every transition. If the energy dips during a Bollywood commercial segment, I adjust the tempo or genre instantly. I handle the MC duties as well, so you do not need a separate host to keep the crowd engaged. I keep the mic work professional and concise, ensuring the music remains the primary focus of the night.
Abi
I'm Abi. When I’m not at the console, I’m usually playing 'Dada' to my daughter Natalia or spending time with my wife, Shruthi. My work is about bridging that gap—bringing the focus of a professional DJ to your event while keeping it approachable, energetic, and completely focused on your crowd.
