About this collection
Rooftops are tricky acoustic environments because sound dissipates into the open air. When I play these sets, I personally handle the sound check to ensure that the subtle melodies of my live harmonium and the punch of the tabla stay crisp and clear against the electronic beats, even as the wind picks up.
A great sundowner is all about the arc of the music. I start the set with deeper, melodic Indo House tracks while the sun is still up, creating a vibe that lets people settle in and enjoy the drink in their hand. As the skyline lights up and the energy in the room shifts, I naturally transition into harder Bolly Tech edits.
My setup for these events is mobile and built for quick transitions. I bring my own instrument microphones and harmonium, meaning I do not rely on standard venue house gear to get that specific fusion sound right. You get the raw, live element of the tabla and vocals layered over the electronic console mix without the muddy bass often found in outdoor venues.
Since I perform solo or with a percussionist, I am flexible with space. We do not need massive stage infrastructure, just a stable console area. If you want to move from a chill terrace gathering to a full-on dance party as the night hits, this is the format that makes it happen.
