Traditional Maayra & Bhaat Folk Songs for Weddings
Maayra and Bhaat are deeply emotional moments in a wedding, celebrating the special bond between siblings. I sing these traditional folk songs with my live band, turning the ritual into a heartfelt celebration for your family.
The Maayra Bhaat ceremony is a beautiful ritual celebrating the brother-sister bond. I love performing traditional folk songs like this one that perfectly capture the emotion and significance of the occasion.
'Ghani Khamma' is a favorite for the Maayra event. It's a traditional Marwadi song of welcome and respect, and it always creates a wonderfully authentic and heartfelt atmosphere.
'Baisa ra Beera' is a classic song for the Bhaat ceremony. The energy is always amazing when we perform this, with everyone dancing and celebrating the brother's arrival.
'Bai ki Chunri' is another beautiful song that adds so much emotion to the Maayra ceremony. It speaks of the brother's love for his sister, making the ritual even more special.
A glimpse of a Maayra Bhaat event with a super lovely audience. Singing for such an appreciative and energetic family is truly a blessing.
'Beero aangan aayo re' (The brother has arrived in the courtyard). I loved performing at this beautiful Maayra event at the ITC Mughal in Agra, celebrating cherished family traditions.

About Traditional Maayra & Bhaat Geet
What makes my Maayra performance different is that I do not just sing. I weave stories around every track, encouraging your family members to come forward, dance, and share the joy. Whether it is 'Baisa ra Beera' or 'Ghani Khamma', I perform live to ensure the energy stays high and the cultural essence remains untouched.
The Maayra and Bhaat ceremony is one of the most cherished rituals in a Marwadi or Rajasthani wedding. It is a moment where the maternal uncle honors his sister and her family, and my music is designed to enhance that feeling of gratitude and love. When I perform at these functions, my goal is to bring the lyrics to life so that every relative feels the weight and beauty of the tradition.
I always perform with a live band ensemble, including a keyboardist, tabla player, and dholak percussionist. We avoid backing tracks because I believe real, live music connects hearts, or as I say, 'dil se dil tak'. This setup allows me to be flexible with the flow of the ceremony. If the crowd wants to dance to 'Bai ki Chunri' or take a more solemn moment with 'Ghani Khamma', we adapt the tempo and the setlist instantly.
Beyond just the songs, I pay attention to the specific cultural nuances of the venue and the family's regional traditions. I have performed at grand venues like the ITC Mughal and Babylon International, and I treat every Maayra with the same devotion as a kirtan. My focus is on getting everyone involved, from the eldest members of the family to the kids, ensuring the ritual is not just watched but actively participated in by everyone present. It is all his kripa that allows me to share these moments with you.
