Artistic Black & White Maternity Portraits
Stripping away colour reveals the raw emotion and classic beauty of your journey. These monochrome portraits focus entirely on the connection, the shapes, and the quiet joy of expecting.
This silhouette is one of my favorite ways to create artistic black and white portraits. It focuses on the emotional connection and the beautiful shapes of the couple, creating a truly timeless piece of art.
A classic black and white couple's portrait is always a beautiful choice. It emphasizes the emotion and intimacy of the moment, creating a memory that feels both classic and profound.
The drama of black and white photography is perfect for creating fine-art maternity portraits. The contrast between the flowing fabric and the simple background makes this a powerful and artistic image.
This quiet, contemplative portrait shows the beauty of black and white for solo maternity shots. The focus is entirely on the mother-to-be and the peaceful moment she is experiencing.
This intimate close-up in black and white highlights the gentle expressions and connection between the couple. It’s a beautiful example of how this style can make a photo feel incredibly personal and emotional.
About Artistic Black & White
When we remove colour, light and shadow become our primary tools to celebrate your form. In my Noida studio, I work with specific lighting techniques to contour your silhouette and emphasize the texture of the gowns from our client closet. Whether you choose a simple studio backdrop or a quiet outdoor setting, black and white images allow us to focus on the intimate connection between you and your partner, or the peaceful anticipation of your own solo portrait.
There is a reason black and white photography remains a favourite for maternity sessions. By removing the distraction of colour, we direct the viewer's eye to the most important elements: the emotion in your eyes, the shape of your baby bump, and the love shared between you and your partner.
The Art of Texture and Light
In these sessions, texture becomes paramount. I often guide clients to choose gowns from my collection that feature intricate details like lace, silk, or ruffles. These materials catch the light beautifully in monochrome, creating depth that colour sometimes hides. My goal is to produce fine-art maternity portraits that feel like classic artwork for your home, rather than just snapshots.
Where We Shoot
While my Noida studio is the perfect, controlled environment for these high-contrast, dramatic shots, we can also achieve this look outdoors. I love capturing black and white silhouettes in natural light at places like Sunder Nursery or Lodhi Gardens. The soft, diffuse light during the golden hour provides a different, more ethereal quality to monochrome images.
My Approach to Your Session
I know that maternity photoshoots can feel intimidating. My process is entirely patient and child-led. We do not rush. We take the time to find the poses that feel natural and comfortable for you. If you need a break, we take one. If the baby is quiet or active, we work around it. My priority is ensuring you feel relaxed, as that comfort is the only way to get those genuine, soulful expressions that make black and white photography so powerful.
