From large-scale sports tributes to intricate mythology, I turn walls into canvases using a mix of brush and spray paint techniques to capture every detail.

A time-lapse video showing the creation of the massive Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli mural. You can see the sheer scale of the project, with artists working on a lift to paint the multi-story portraits.

This video captures the final touches on the Rohit Sharma tribute mural. It shows me in action, spray painting the details that bring the portrait and the celebratory figure to life on the wall.

A close-up of the smaller, full-color figure celebrating in the Rohit Sharma mural. The contrast between the monochrome portrait and the colorful character makes the whole piece stand out.

A shot of my hand, showing the spray can control needed to create the soft shades and gradients on the black and white portrait of Rohit Sharma.

My hands, covered in paint, holding a spray can during the Rohit Sharma mural project. This is the reality of a graffiti artist's work; you get your hands dirty to create something clean.

A short, atmospheric video showing the process of painting the Krishna and Yashoda mural. Using brushes and paint, I focused on capturing the gentle expressions and intricate details of the characters in a classic black and white style.

A close-up of the finished Krishna mural. The piece was painted for Mother's Day and aims to capture the divine love between mother and child, rendered with realistic shading and detail.

The Krishna mural seen with natural light and shadows from a nearby plant. This shows how the artwork interacts with its environment, changing its mood throughout the day.

A straight-on shot of the completed Krishna and Yashoda mural. The black background makes the white and grey figures stand out, giving the piece a timeless, portrait-like quality.

The full "STATES OF MIND" mural, featuring three distinct characters. This was a personal project to practice different shading techniques and facial structures, all painted in a realistic, monochrome style.

About Character & Realism Murals

For realistic portraits, I do not rely on freehand alone. I use projection and grid mapping techniques to plot out facial structures and anatomy before I ever crack open a spray can. This guarantees the final mural has the exact proportions you expect, whether it is a massive sports idol tribute or a fine-art piece.

When you are looking to cover a wall with something as complex as a portrait or a character, you need more than just artistic flair. You need structural accuracy. Whether I am painting a multi-story tribute to cricketers like Rohit Sharma or a detailed, black-and-white Krishna mural for a home space, the process stays the same.

I start with a digital mockup to finalize the composition, then use either a projector or a hand-drawn grid to ensure the layout is perfect before the actual painting begins. For the Rohit Sharma project, we used professional scaffolding and specialized nozzles to get those tight gradients on the portrait. For my Krishna and Yashoda mural, I switched to fine-art brushes to get the soft, divine expressions right.

I treat my equipment like a craftsman, using premium imported paints like Montana or Molotow that resist fading and offer high opacity. If it is an indoor project, I use low-odor water-based paints to make sure the room remains usable. My 'States of Mind' series was a deeper dive into this, testing how different shading techniques and facial structures change the mood of a room.

Every project is different, but the goal is the same: to create something that doesn't just look good, but looks real. If you have a character or a concept in mind, let's talk about the wall space you have and how we can make it pop.

I am Dexter, a Mumbai-based artist turning blank walls into stories. I swap between heavy metal graffiti and realistic portraiture because, for me, if there is a wall, it is a canvas. I am all about clean lines, bold characters, and putting real work into every single spray.
