Gothic & Mechanical Graffiti Art in Mumbai
My signature style brings a raw, industrial edge to any wall. Think heavy metal aesthetics, intricate machinery, and dark, detailed lettering.
A full shot of a piece from a Sunday painting session, showcasing my mechanical and goth style. It features a cow skull, intricate machinery, and characters from pop culture, all rendered in a monochrome, dirty style.
The same mechanical goth piece, shown on the full wall. This style allows for a lot of improvisation, blending different elements together into a single, cohesive, and complex industrial-themed mural.
A close-up of the cow skull and a small demonic character from the mechanical mural. The shading and detail work here are done entirely with spray paint, creating a gritty, textured look.
A detail from the mural showing a character throwing up the "rock on" horns. This is a nod to the heavy metal music that inspires much of my gothic and mechanical artwork.
Another close-up, this time focusing on the wires, dials, and machine parts. I enjoy creating these detailed mechanical letters and structures, a style known as "mechanicalletters" in the graffiti world.
A video showcasing the "AFTER LIFE" mural, a collaboration with artist Elmac. The piece combines my mechanical lettering with his hyper-realistic bird skull, set to the sound of metal music.
A detailed shot of the "AFTER LIFE" letters. This is my anti-style, dirty-style approach to lettering, creating a raw, industrial look that complements the gothic theme.
The artist tags on the "AFTER LIFE" mural. Collaboration is a huge part of graffiti culture, and we always sign our work together on a finished wall.
This video shows a collaborative piece with a cyberpunk, bio-mechanical theme. My contribution was the sharp, abstract lettering that weaves through the complex character art, all done during a street jam session.
About Gothic & Mechanical Art
This is not about clean, soft lines. My mechanical style relies on a 'dirty' aesthetic, where we layer chaotic wires, dials, and anatomical details to create depth. If you want a wall that feels static, look elsewhere. These pieces are designed to look like they are constantly moving or vibrating under the surface, using high-opacity spray paints to ensure the industrial textures pop.
The Mechanical & Goth Aesthetic
My approach to graffiti is heavily influenced by the heavy metal and post-punk scenes. This isn't just about throwing some spray paint on a wall. It is a calculated process of building complex structures—skulls, abstract machinery, and aggressive lettering—that demand attention.
Why the 'Dirty' Style Works
What you see in these images is a mix of control and chaos. I use 'anti-style' techniques, which means disregarding traditional calligraphy rules to focus on impact.
- Layering: I build the mural from the background up, layering mechanical parts over dark, moody gradients.
- Tools: I rely on premium imported spray cans like Montana and Molotow. These aren't just for color; they are for line control. A fat cap for the base fills and a skinny cap for the wire detailing make the difference between a flat painting and a piece that looks three-dimensional.
Where This Fits
This style is not for every wall, but for the right space, it is a game changer. It works perfectly in:
- Private Gaming Dens: If you want a room that feels like a tech-dystopia or a gothic lair.
- Creative Offices: Brands that want to project a bold, counter-culture image.
- Music Spaces: Rehearsal rooms or venues that need that gritty, underground aesthetic.
The Logistics
Every project starts with a conversation about the vision, followed by digital sketches. Once we are on the wall, I use drop cloths to protect your space and ensure the only thing left behind is the art. Whether it is a quick session or a multi-day mural installation, the goal is always the same: make it look loud.
Dexter
I'm Dexter. I live for that raw, heavy metal aesthetic, blending skulls and machinery into complex murals across Mumbai. If you're looking for corporate, safe art, this isn't it; but if you want something loud and industrial, we should talk.
