Bringing timeless stories to life with depth, shadow, and a signature monochromatic twist.

The final mural of Yashoda and Krishna, installed in a client's space. This custom Indian mythological painting serves as a major focal point in the room.

This video shows me at work on the Yashoda and Krishna mural, demonstrating the brushwork and layering involved in a large-scale realism painting.

A detailed close-up of the finished mural. Notice the intricate work on the jewelry, the peacock feathers, and the expressive eyes of both figures.

An atmospheric shot of the completed mural in its environment, with natural light and shadows adding to the dramatic effect of the monochrome art.

A slightly different angle of the full Yashoda and Krishna mural, showing how the composition fills the wall space.

About Indian Mythology in Monochrome

I build these murals using layers of artist-grade acrylics to get that charcoal-sketch depth that really pops on a wall. Since this isn't spray paint but fine brushwork, you get a clean, wipeable surface that holds up well in any room. We start with a digital overlay of your space so you know exactly how the composition fits before I even pick up a brush.

There is something about grayscale that makes a mythological scene feel both grounded and modern. By stripping away the color, we force the eye to focus entirely on the emotion, the expressions, and the texture of the work. Whether it is a tender moment between Yashoda and Krishna or a dramatic portrait, I treat every wall like a large-scale canvas.

The Process

Every project follows a straightforward path to ensure we hit the mark:

  • Initial Vision: We start with a 15-minute call to lock in the reference image and discuss the scale. If it is a 10x10 wall or larger, I need to understand the lighting in your space to adjust the shading accordingly.
  • Digital Concept: Before I start, I provide a digital overlay of the concept on a photo of your wall. This takes the guesswork out of the final look.
  • Execution: I typically need 3 to 4 days of uninterrupted time on-site. I handle all the masking for your skirting boards and switches, so the focus stays entirely on the art.
  • Longevity: I use heavy-body acrylics for their opacity and finish with a clear, water-based sealant. This makes the mural wipeable, which is essential if it is going in a high-traffic area like a living room or office.

Why Monochrome?

Color can be distracting, but a monochromatic palette allows for a level of hyper-realism that feels closer to classical sculpture. I enjoy bringing that Renaissance-style approach to our own cultural stories. It turns a standard wall into a focal point that feels classic, not dated. If you have a specific scene in mind, reach out and let's see how it looks in grayscale.

Graffiti runs in my veins, but I respect the classics. Whether I am spraying a raw metal-inspired wall or painting a detailed Yashoda-Krishna portrait, I bring the same intensity to every inch of the surface.
