Earthy & Eco-Conscious Home Designs in Bengaluru
We craft homes that breathe, using natural materials like CSEB mud blocks and reclaimed wood to build spaces that feel warm, honest, and deeply connected to nature.
The Madhura residence features a distinctive facade with sloping tile roofs and walls made of CSEB mud blocks. The design merges two family homes on a single urban plot, using arches and vaults to create unique interior volumes.
The Eesha residence is set amidst farms, designed to blend with its natural surroundings. The entire structure is built with exposed CSEB, creating an earthy, serene home that carries the essence of its rural setting.
A closer view of the Eesha residence facade, highlighting the patterned brick jali screen. This feature provides ventilation and creates beautiful light play while adding a decorative element to the earth-block construction.
The Madhura house seen from the street, with a local cow wandering past. I design homes to be a part of their context, reflecting the life and rhythm of the neighborhood.
Another perspective of the Madhura residence, showing the interplay of the dual sloping roofs and the warm texture of the exposed brick walls. The design provides each of the two homes with private balconies and terraces.
This living space in the Madhura house is designed for gatherings and music. The room is enveloped in the warmth of a terracotta brick vault roof and Jaisalmer stone flooring, creating an acoustically and visually rich environment.
A vibrant and earthy room featuring a combination of terracotta, Jaisalmer stone, and a yellow oxide wall with leaf imprints. The vaulted ceiling adds a sense of traditional grandeur and volume to the space.
About this collection
We don't just build walls, we craft them using Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (CSEB) and filler slabs to naturally regulate indoor temperatures. By reducing reliance on standard RCC columns and partitions, we ensure your home stays cool during the heat of a Bengaluru summer, significantly lowering the need for active cooling and air conditioning.
Building an earthy home is a deliberate choice to move away from standard concrete construction. Our process focuses on bioclimatic design, meaning we analyze how the sun moves across your plot to position living spaces and openings for maximum natural light and airflow.
We frequently employ the filler slab technique, where we replace concrete in the tension zone of the slab with terracotta pots or hollow blocks. This not only reduces the carbon footprint of your build but also leaves you with a stunning, exposed ceiling finish that acts as a design element.
Inside, we emphasize sensory experiences. You will find us using hand-troweled oxide flooring in deep reds, yellows, or greens, which offers a cool, smooth texture that feels exceptional underfoot. These floors, combined with raw mud-block walls and reclaimed timber doors, create a space that feels lived-in and timeless from day one.
Whether it is a farm-facing home designed to blend with the landscape or a compact urban residence like our Madhura project, our goal is to create 'jagali' decks and courtyards that blur the line between indoor and outdoor living. We handle everything from the initial structural concept to the final styling, ensuring that every detail, from the brick jali screens to the electrical conduit layout, contributes to a home that feels honest and uniquely yours.
